Aviation MCP processes the arguments your assistant sends to its tools. These can include airport and aircraft identifiers, dates, weather reports, coordinates, routes, and procedure names. It does not request your conversation history, account password, or personal files.
How requests are used
Requests are used to look up aviation data, perform calculations, retrieve weather and terrain, and return results to your assistant. The hosted service does not require an Aviation MCP account. Avoid sending personal or confidential information that is unnecessary for your query.
Hosting and data providers
Cloudflare handles website and MCP traffic, and Fly.io hosts the server and PostgreSQL database. These services process connection information such as IP addresses and request metadata. Weather requests can send station identifiers, coordinates, requested fields, and times to the Aviation Weather Center and Open-Meteo. Terrain requests retrieve geographic tiles from the public Copernicus DEM distribution on AWS. Your ChatGPT or Claude provider processes the conversation under its own policies.
Storage and retention
The service stores IP-based rate-limit state. Scheduled cleanup removes entries inactive for more than one hour; deletion depends on the cleanup job completing. Weather responses are cached with a default freshness of 15 minutes and become eligible for cleanup after expiration and outstanding fetch or retry periods. Terrain answers may be reused for five minutes; terrain answers and downloaded blocks remain in a size-limited cache until eviction. Cache freshness is not a deletion guarantee.
Operational logs can contain request metadata, timestamps, and error information. Infrastructure logs and backups follow the hosting provider's configured retention. The service does not maintain user accounts or a conversation-history database. The website uses self-hosted fonts and does not include an advertising or analytics script.
